Claims Adjuster

Claims Adjuster

As a Claims Adjuster working from the home office, you will be responsible for the prompt investigation, equitable settlement and cost-effective payment of claims.

What you will do….

  • Review claim against applicable policy coverage to determine validity
  • Verify degree of damage by analyzing applicable statements and related reports
  • Assign inspections to independent adjuster and analyze repair estimates
  • Approve repair estimates, authorize payments and establish reserves as needed
  • Assist policyholder by coordinating repairs through direct providers
  • Process regulatory filings, dispose of salvage and pursue subrogation as needed
  • Review claims data to identify opportunities to reduce overall costs
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with policyholders, agents and adjusters

The qualifications you need include….

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience
  • 1-3 years of claims experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently and effectively
  • A confident decision maker with negotiation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Good judgement, a great work ethic and highly self-motivated

Workers Compensation Coordinator

Workers Compensation Coordinator

This is a great opportunity to join a relationship-based company that has a great culture and collaborative work environment. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Underwriting, you will have the ability to work independently and take complete ownership of the Workers Compensation line of business for 7 states. Your initial responsibility will be to evaluate the current procedures to improve overall efficiencies and develop and implement a plan to increase written premiums.

What you will also do….

  • Manage audit vendor contract to ensure timely and accurate reports
  • Review audit reports, document results and process invoice or refund
  • Prepare statistical reports, state filings and state market exam data
  • Identify and process quarterly dividend checks for eligible policyholders
  • Maintain records, rules and rating plans to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Analyze regulatory changes and develop action plan to address impacts
  • Increase industry knowledge through research and attending seminars
  • Review claims data to identify opportunities for reducing overall costs

The qualifications you need include….

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of Workers Compensation regulatory compliance experience
  • In depth knowledge of commercial insurance, rating plans and audits
  • Ability to serve as the company expert and consultant in Workers Compensation
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Highly detail oriented with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage workload independently and effectively
  • Good judgement, a great work ethic and highly self-motivated

Commercial Lines Underwriter

Commercial Lines Underwriter

This is a great opportunity to build and grow your skills with a relationship-based company that has a great culture and collaborative work environment. As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting business such as sports bars and taverns, restaurants, apartments and small family dwellings in up to 10 states. You will work closely with independent insurance agents and partner with Regional Managers to promote profit and premium growth through new and renewal accounts.

What you will do….

  • Underwrite new business, renewal policies and policy endorsements
  • Review policy applications and related documents to assess the degree of risk
  • Review inspection and/or loss control reports on new and existing policies
  • Conduct risk analysis to determine acceptance, rejection or non-renewal of policies
  • Utilize underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with state regulations
  • Negotiate policy terms and conditions with agents on complex accounts
  • Review and apply underwriting guideline changes and promote new business
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with agencies

The qualifications you need include….
