Field Property Claims Adjuster - Arizona

Field Property Claims Adjuster – Arizona

 

Badger Mutual Insurance is looking for an experienced Field Property Claims Adjuster to cover the greater Phoenix and surrounding area.  While working in the field, you will be responsible for the prompt investigation, equitable settlement and cost-effective payment of homeowners and commercial property claims from inception to close.

What you will do:

  • Review claims against applicable policy coverage to determine validity
  • Conduct on-site inspection to assess and verify degree of damage
  • Interview insureds, claimants, witnesses and document statements
  • Obtain relevant reports from police, fire department and medical providers
  • Review statements and reports and provide an estimate for repairs
  • Negotiate and authorize payments within authority level and establish reserves as needed
  • Assist policyholder by coordinating repairs through direct providers if necessary
  • Process regulatory filings, dispose of salvage and pursue subrogation as needed
  • Review claims data to identify opportunities to reduce overall costs
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with policyholders, agents, contractors and attorneys

The qualifications you need include….

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience
  • 3-5 years of claims experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently and effectively
  • A confident decision maker with negotiation skills
  • Good judgement, a great work ethic and highly self-motivated

College Intern - Accounts Division

College Intern – Accounts Division

 

This is a great opportunity to gain professional experience in a property and casualty insurance company that has a great culture and collaborative work environment.  As an Intern, you will report to the Supervisor of Accounts and work independently to assist in the processing of policyholder premium payments and auditing payment information.

This is a year round internship which pays $15 per hour. The position is part time with a minimum of 16 hours per week required during the school year and the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer and semester breaks. The scheduled hours are flexible based on your class schedule and our business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.

What you will do:

  • Audit an average of 500 policyholder premium payment envelopes on a daily basis to ensure that checks and related documents were removed and processed.
  • Scan approximately 400 premium payment checks on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the customer database by entering premium payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process direct deposit premium payments made by insurance agents on behalf of policyholders.
  • Audit mortgage payment information and update homeowner policy records as needed.

The qualifications you need include….

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program
  • A minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

College Intern - Claims Department

College Intern – Claims Department

This is a year round internship which pays $15 per hour.   • Process first notice of loss phone reports on all claims.
  • Staff the call center and direct customers for proper problem resolution.
  • Order police reports and obtain other required claim information.
  • Process medical records requests, vehicle titles and issue expense payments.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets of claims statistical data.
  • Assist in claims investigations by reviewing related social media sites.
