Software Engineer

Software Engineer

($100,000 – $125,000 Annual Salary – depending on experience)

We’re a growing, close-knit insurance company looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys building thoughtful solutions and working closely with others. You’ll work hands-on, contributing to the design, development and maintenance of our core products, and help shape how we build moving forward. Here at Badger Mutual, you’ll have the opportunity to help influence technical decisions and see your work make a real impact in a small-company environment.

What Will You Do?

  • Develop client, web and web service applications for internal employees, independent agents, insureds, banking and government entities
  • Deliver full stack developer features, from concept to testing, deployment and monitoring.
  • Import and export large amounts of data for data collecting/reporting purposes
  • Support internal users which run a mix of custom built and 3rd party client and web applications
  • Support independent agents utilizing our web-based policy portal as well as our insureds through custom-built web applications
  • Gather data pertaining to customer needs and use the information to identify, predict, interpret and evaluate system and network requirements

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience
  • 8-10 years of experience preferred
  • Knowledge of VB.NET, .NET Framework, Windows Client, JavaScript, Vue.js, SQL Server
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and administer complex administrative systems and processes
  • Good judgement, a great work ethic and highly self-motivated
