Making a Difference in the Heart of Our Community

With our heart at the foundation of everything we do, we are incredibly proud to reach out our hand to philanthropic organizations throughout the community – with special attention to those located in our immediate neighborhood.  Our employees, the Badger Family, relentlessly dedicate their time and talent to longtime community partners, helping to strengthen our neighborhoods, inspire our youth, celebrate diversity, and enrich the community in which we live and work.

Badger Mutual Make A Wish Walk for Wishes 2023

2023 Walk for Wishes

A full summer’s worth of fundraising – through both company-sponsored events and the personal efforts of employees – culminated in a wildly successful Walk for Wishes event on Saturday, September 7. Employees gathered to walk a 1 or 3-mile course at the Summerfest grounds and celebrate our final fundraising total – over $20,000!

Throughout the past two decades, we have granted almost 100 wishes, and with the funds our team raised for this year’s Walk, we granted Eloise’s wish to go to Walt Disney World ® Resort and Jett’s wish to go to Discovery Cove.

Since Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s founding in 1984, more than 6,500 children and families with life-threatening medical conditions throughout the state have experienced the transformative power of a wish.

Since 2018, we have partnered with Cristo Rey Jesuit High School – Milwaukee and their robust work-study program. This year, two student workers, Monica and Edwin, have joined the Badger fam and work throughout our Accounts, HR, Claims, Client Services, and Administrative departments.

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School uses an innovative work-study program to provide a comprehensive affordable, Catholic education to students who come from families with limited financial means. All students work five full days per month at companies across the greater Milwaukee area. Through their innovative program, students gain confidence, connect the relevance of their academic coursework to future employment, acquire skills that will benefit their careers, and receive unprecedented access to the professional world.
